  As thePrincipal Consultant, Experiential & Collaborationat Diversified, you’ll be a key player in our mission, reporting directly to the Vice President of Consulting. You’ll provide executive-level engineering thought leadership, shaping strategy and ensuring its successful implementation in support of our project pursuits and executions. Your influence will be felt across Diversified’s technical operations and sales teams, driving our success on a company-wide scale.

  But your role doesn’t stop there. You’ll be our go-to expert across Diversified’s divisions, lending your knowledge to everything from advanced collaboration technologies and conferencing to sports & live events, enterprise IT, and digital signage practice areas.

  And when it comes to industry events, you’ll be our ambassador. As an active participant in various trade shows, standards organizations, and industry gatherings, you’ll represent Diversified, sharing our vision and expertise with the world.

  What will you be doing?

• Serve as thought leader and strategist for key customers, leading architectural and technical design approaches for facility wide and enterprise-wide consulting & design/build opportunities as it relates to audiovisual systems.

• Act as lead technologist supporting pre-sales and client discovery efforts, aiding in translating customer requirements into executable functional and technical specifications.

• Define, communicate, and implement an architectural vision, supporting key design and implementation efforts involved in audiovisual systems.

• Research and identification of industry opportunities and networking events to support Diversified’s mission to aggressively compete in the audiovisual industry.

• Interact with the vendor community and maintain a working understanding of technology and product roadmaps to apply those to new project pursuits and service offerings as well as driving opportunity for creation of emerging technology offerings.

• Provide written and verbal communication in support of our teams in their major project pursuits and supporting these pursuits when so assigned.

• Evaluate changing market conditions and continually refine the Workplace Consulting offerings and processes to maximize sales, efficiencies, and project performance.

• Identify and implement opportunities that enable Workplace to expand revenue opportunities in support of all Diversified vertical offerings.

• Support of the Workplace and Regional Sales VPs when assigned to secure new projects for the company.

• Maintain an authoritative role versed in technology knowledge of vendor product offerings, and a firm perspective on the competitive landscape.

• Standout as an industry evangelist inclusive of Diversified’s Workplace Technology, in addition to related emerging technologies as they become relevant.

• Partner with the Innovation and Consulting team(s) within Diversified through participation in committees and industry events; Author and issue 2 white papers per year tied to key strategic projects.

• Other special and strategic responsibilities and duties commensurate with this position will be defined and communicated from time to time.

  What do we require from you?

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business or technology field of study, or equivalent experience. A master’s degree would be a plus.

• 10+ years of experience as a solutions architect, engineering leader or solutions professional and trusted customer advisor in the design, application, and administration of audiovisual systems.

• 3-5 years’ experience with software integration; 5-10 years’ experience with audiovisual systems design engineering.

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of complex audiovisual systems design centered around commercial, healthcare, and sports facilities.

• Advanced and sophisticated written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with and establish trust towards C-level executives, end users, customers, vendors, and manufacturers in a 1:1 and group setting.

• In-depth knowledge of enterprise-level network design, configuration, and security as it relates to physical, topology, IP structures and ranges, switch interconnectivity, VLAN, bandwidth calculations, etc.

• AVIXA CTS-D is required, and CTS-I is preferred.

• Preferred industry technical certifications, such as for ISF, CompTIA Network +, Security +, CCNA, Extreme Networks ECA

• Certifications with at least one DSP platform such as Biamp, QSC, Clearone, etc.

• Certifications with at least one control system such as Crestron, Extron, AMX, etc.

• Certifications with at least one AV over IP platform such as Crestron, Evertz, AMX

• Additional industry technical certifications and training such as Dante 1-3 Levels, and others of relevance.

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local construction laws and regulations.

• Experience with the business, design, operations, strategies, and technologies relevant to the audiovisual content, both live and file-based, for a variety of industries, including corporate enterprise, federal, financial, healthcare, media, retail, etc.

• Basic accounting knowledge and how to create and maintain budgets.

• Ability to listen, understand and convey highly complex information, and present in-depth technical solutions, related to audiovisual systems, pricing, terms and more.

• Ability to travel and work in a light industrial environment.

Our compensation ranges reflect the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The pay details below range from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience depending on the position offered, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
