Job Summary
Financial Analyst, under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, monitors and maintains approved program budgets, Analyzed and communicates variances to program managers and directors and provides other general budget support. This position is also responsible for grant financial reporting, financial applications maintenance, bank statements reconciliation, and audit support.
Essential Functions
- Set up and maintain program budgets in the accounting system
- Perform budget vs. actual expense variance analysis
- Create and maintain online financial information dashboards for non-accounting users
- Prepare financial reports for granting agencies
- Assist with grant close-outs and tracking of grant encumbrances
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and financial data inputs for new grant applications
- Liaise with software vendors to enhance the utilization, integration, and functionality of systems used by the finance department
- Assist with resolving technical issues with financial software applications
- Prepare monthly bank statement reconciliations
- Assist with preparing supporting work papers for financial, compliance, and insurance policy audits Protect operations by keeping information and planning confidential, only distributing to relevant parties
- Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies, and TERO ordinance

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration , or related field, or a combination of education and experience in a related field may be substituted for a degree
Experience
- Three (3) years of experience as a staff accountant, auditor, financial analyst, or a similar role
Preferred
- Concentration in accounting preferred
- Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities
License/Certification
- Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy,or obtain within 90 days of hire, or, with approval of the hiring manager, sign a *Mem randum of Understanding (MOU) in lieu of having a driver's license to perform the required duties of the position (If Applicable)
