UNIVERSITY OF NEB KEARNEY Graduation Coordinator in Kearney, Nebraska

[Job Description or Duties:** This position is responsible for verifying completion of all degree requirements, institutional and departmental, for all undergraduate graduation candidates. The position coordinates all graduation processes for which the Registrars Office is responsible. This requires an in-depth understanding of academic policies at the institutional and departmental level. This person corresponds with students and department chairs regarding degree requirements and serves as the authority for degree completion. This position oversees the entire graduation process including reviewing applications, printing diplomas, reviewing the printed commencement program, designating honors status, preparing and sending graduation packets and related information, and assisting at the commencement ceremony. This position processes graduation applications for all students wishing to graduate each semester. Perform graduation checkout for all applications and determine eligibility for graduation. Serve as the primary contact across campus regarding lists of graduates and graduation numbers. Post degrees for all undergraduate students, enter transcript text, ensure accuracy in posted degree programs and GPAs. Advise students and faculty through written and verbal communication regarding degree requirements. Track all graduation candidates through application and review. Maintain graduation supply inventory. Process graduation applications for all students wishing to graduate each semester. Perform graduation check-out for all applicants and determine eligibility for graduation. Serve as the primary contact person across campus regarding list of graduates and graduation numbers. Post degrees for all undergraduate students, enter transcript text, and correct degree GPA. Advise students and faculty, through written and verbal communication regarding degree requirements. Run reports and execute processes to track candidates through application and review.

Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree and 2 years successful work experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong computer skills. Ability to understand, follow and explain university policy and procedures; exceptional team focus with the ability to multitask; excellent problem solving and customer relations skills. A sincere desire to serve students.

**Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree with 2 or more years experience in higher ed. Experience with Excel, database systems, web page development and PeopleSoft student information system.
