About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Release Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient deployments of our Java applications. You will be responsible for automating the build, test, and deployment pipeline using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Github Actions. You will also collaborate with developers and operations teams to streamline the release process and ensure high-quality software releases.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated build pipelines using tools like Github Actions, Docker and Maven.

  • Develop and enforce branching strategies to manage code versions, features, and bug fixes effectively. This may include utilizing feature branches, release branches, and hotfixes.

  • Implement robust CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions for continuous integration and delivery.

  • Configure and manage containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Package and deploy applications using Helm charts to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments across test & production environments.

  • Collaborate with developers to ensure code quality and adherence to deployment best practices.

  • Work with operations teams to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.

  • Monitor deployments and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the release process.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in DevOps tools and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a software development environment.

  • Proven experience with Docker and containerization technologies.

  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts and deployment strategies.

  • Experience working with Helm charts for application packaging and deployment.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Java or Python for automation tasks.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Github Actions is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of Java development and build processes (e.g., Gradle).

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
