Burns & McDonnell Real Estate Transaction Manager (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

The Real Estate Transaction Manager will be responsible for managing and executing commercial real estate transactions for our corporate real estate department. This role will support strategic planning, strong analysis, site selection, lease negotiation, and commercial real estate lease portfolio management and reporting.

  • Consult with internal business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, build project plans, and manage project life cycle for selection and leasing of field office properties.

  • Select and collaborate with commercial real estate brokers and other third parties.

  • Lead and conduct analysis of market trends, management of property data, and financial information reporting to support decision-making.

  • Prepare budget and financial forecasting for property portfolio.

  • Lead implementation of lease transaction and administration technology applications to drive continuous process improvement and improved reporting.

  • Collaborate with the corporate real estate team to ensure efficient project execution, timely decision making, smooth workflow and coordinated lease commencement.

  • Develop real estate strategies to optimize property performance.

  • Manage lease management, including lease abstracts, tracking critical dates, and ensuring compliance with lease agreements.

  • Maintain accurate and organized physical and digital files for properties, leases, and client information.

  • Maintain databases of lease and property-related information.

  • Manage vendor contracts and performance.

  • Ensure that services are provided in compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and contractual obligations and standards.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence for clients and team members.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, finance or related field and 10 years of relevant experience required.

  • Previous experience in corporate real estate, commercial real estate, or a related role.

  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate standards, common business practices, terminology, property occupancy and performance metrics, and lease agreement types and terms.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and real estate software/tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
