Job Title: Mechanical Engineering DesignerJob Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Designer with the ability to design from concept to prototype of conveyors and other industrial machines/equipment using AutoCAD Inventor 3D. The ideal candidate should have intermediate to advanced design skills and experience in the mechanical design discipline within industrial environments such as the automotive or fiberglass insulation manufacturing industries.

Responsibilities

• Design conveyors and industrial equipment from concept to prototype using AutoCAD Inventor 3D.

• Handle the conveyance system layout, machine design, and detailing parts.

• Work on projects from start to finish and assist the field project manager.

• Interact with customers to understand requirements and specifications.

• Collaborate with the shop for fabrication and layout of the equipment.

• Manage small to medium projects, including design specifications and customer interactions.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and design skills.

• 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design or equivalent in an industrial design build environment.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and Project.

• Experience in project engineering, handling design specifications, and customer interaction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field is a plus but not required.

• Experience in Solidworks and/or Demo 3D software is a plus.

• Experience in the conveyor industry or machine/equipment design and build is ideal.

Work Environment

The engineering group comprises roughly 15-20 project engineers and mechanical designers. The work environment includes a cubical workspace within the engineering group. The dress code is business casual, sometimes casual. The working hours are normal daytime.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr.
