Job Description

Under the supervision of the Associate Administrator or designee, the Maternal Health SUD Program Navigator will develop and oversee all functions, clinical programs, and activities of the Obstetric component of the Maternal SUD program. The Navigator will coordinate timely services for patients who come to Maternal SUD program. The navigator will work closely with maternal health program manager, clinical staff, physicians, labor and delivery and clinic leadership to guide patients quickly to the appropriate area of care. Acts as a role model and advocate throughout the organization and in the community for the program and in the care of women and children.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or the equivalent with a combination of an ADN and relevant experience

  • Current Missouri RN license.

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of professional nursing.

  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of community health nursing. Some knowledge of the programs and objectives of a state health agency. Working knowledge of available local community resources and ability to apply problem-solving techniques to community health needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, amend priorities and remain focused on operational objectives in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to work with flexibility in hours and a wide variety of work environments to include multi-disciplinary teams

  • Experience in leading programs and teams, in both small and large groups

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions and to maintain records and prepare reports.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Excellent telephone skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants, general public, professional staff, state and local officials, and other allied staff. Working knowledge of inter-professional relationships in the implementation of programs.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, and the ability to use customized software for maintaining records, managing scheduled appointments etc. (i.e. MOHSAIC)

  • Possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license and appropriate automobile insurance coverage. Ability to navigate the multi-county area using road maps and directions.
