SUMMARY: The Master Mechanic performs maintenance to s ervice, repair, and overhaul aircraft to insure airworthiness . Utilizes technical skills and knowledge to train and develop mechanics. Assists Leads with daily operation of functional area while working under minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, engineering orders, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement, or modification.

  • Oversees and co-signs for uncertified mechanics in accordance with the ATS RSM procedures.

  • Repair, modify, replace or otherwise performs routine aircraft maintenance work.

  • Uses technical data to order parts and ensure material is effective for aircraft being installed on.

  • Gathers information to submit to Engineering as needed.

  • Recognizes unsafe conditions and takes immediate corrective action.

  • May assist Leads with planning, production, and quality assurance of assigned projects.

  • Communicates effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.

  • Facilitates On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignment and mentoring.

  • SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:

    Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensure provision of full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and are provided with the proper equipment to carry out the job in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ recent commercial aircraft maintenance and/or MRO experience preferred.

  • Applicable Repairman, Airframe, or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required.

    PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand, and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

    Compensation

    The full base pay range for this position is $29.00-$39.00 per hour, exclusive of benefits or potential bonuses. The lower end of the range represents the target base pay for those beginning or developing in the role. The higher end of the range is intended for those who have mastered the role, with proven significant expertise, high achievement, and specialized skills. If you are hired at ATS, your hourly rate will be based on factors including skills, education and experience. In addition to those factors – we consider internal equity of our current employees when determining offers. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. We also offer a generous benefits package, as detailed below.
