The Maintenance Repair Technician / Mechanic position is responsible for performing basic mechanical maintenance and repair tasks, inspecting equipment for potential problems, and troubleshooting issues to ensure equipment is performing appropriately and the customer is taken care of.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain airport passenger boarding bridges, and related equipment.

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled and schedule maintenance repairs of equipment.

  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and lubrication of components.

  • Inspect, replace and/or repair defective parts while performing preventative maintenance

  • Drive and operate different equipment such as golf cart, company vehicles, forklift, etc.

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Input all work order in the CMMS system and complete all PM’s and CM’s logs and paperwork.

  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s vision, mission, and core values in all interaction with customers, co-workers, and suppliers

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Valid Driver License.

  • 2+ years’ experience in equipment/vehicle maintenance, mechanical service, or engine diagnostics in a professional capacity

  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of passenger boarding bridges and supporting assets.

  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Intermediate understanding of PLC Control systems a plus

  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics, will train if necessary

  • Detail-oriented and organized.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to clearly direct, lead work tasks and delegate assignments to peers

  • Able to be badged to work in secure areas of an airport.

  • Able to work Day or Night shift including weekends and holidays.

  • Experience with Airport operations a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of a machine repair technician / mechanic the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds. Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and the confined areas. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is at the airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircraft and heavy equipment.
