Overview

The Information Systems Analyst II will:

  • Serve as liaison between Information Systems and user departments to determine how best to support them through the effective use of technology.

  • Design, implement, upgrades and maintain software systems with a high degree of complexity.

  • Facilitate process improvements. Coordinate custom programming, change management, and system optimization.

  • Provide quidance and training to less experienced analysts.

Responsibilities

Liaison between Information Systems and user departments:

  • Collaborates with system users to determine how to best support them through the effective use of technology.

  • Investigates the need for additional services, programs, modules or modifications.

  • Communicates policy to users. Responds to user requests for assistance.

  • Participates in orientation, training, and knowledge transfer of new IS staff.

  • Maintains application security by granting the correct level of access for all users and administrators of the application.

  • Monitors access to applications including removing access when a user or administrator no longer requires the access.

    Design, implement, upgrade, and maintain software systems with a high degree of complexity:

  • Collaborates with system users to identify system deficiencies.

  • Formulates recommendations to remedy system deficiencies.

  • Tests planned system upgrades to identify defects.

  • Coordinates correction of identified defects with the software vendor.

  • Implements system upgrades. Maintains ongoing changes in application configurations.

  • Maintains current knowledge of software enhancements and upgrades.

  • Maintains documentation of the application, how it works, what it does, technical contacts, responsible parties, maintenance instructions, back-up procedures, disaster recovery.

    Facilitate process improvements:

  • Collaborates with system users to identify where improvements are needed in electronic processes.

  • Acts as subject matter expert to design and implement system changes to improve processes.

    Coordinate custom programming:

  • Collaborates with users and/or application vendor to define needed improvements related to standard application limitations and defects.

  • Collaborates with users to define specifications of needed functionality. Coordinates with application vendor and/or programmers to provide needed functionality.

  • Coordinates quality assurance with IS team and end users to determine accuracy of custom programming.

    Coordinate change management and system optimization:

  • Collaborates with users to define effects of planned system changes.

  • Coordinates the implementation of system changes with other affected groups.

  • Coordinates with software vendors to identify the most efficient application configuration to maximize system performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years' experience. Experience in the user areas to be supported or related field. OR

  • High School diploma or equivalent or Associate's degree and 9 years' related experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, plus the above.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $32.57/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
