DELIVERY DRIVER – TRACTOR TRAILER (Kansas City, MO)

*This is a full time, hourly position. Some overtime may be required.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver goods while operating a tractor-trailer truck
• Load and unload cargo.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect their trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects they find.
• Follow proper accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
• Make sure the truck is equipped with safety equipment
• Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.
• Get goods to client on time.
• Transport hazardous materials.
• Take special precautions while driving.
• Maintain log of trips.
• Various additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

• Work with all departments and employees to ensure quality of customer service.

  Minimum Qualifications:

-Commercial truck drivers must obtain a commercial driver's Class "A" license to operate vehicles over 26,001 pounds of gross vehicle weight. Drivers of vehicles transporting hazardous materials must also obtain special endorsements and a commercial driver's license (CDL) in their home state.

-Must pass an annual DOT physical

-Flatbed experience preferred with at least two (2) years' experience. Tie down/Chain on strapping.

-Eaton 10 speed knowledge

-Prior Forklift driving experience

-Ability to work in all climates

-Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

-Good customer relations skills.

-Must maintain acceptable driving record.

-Regularly lift up to 50lbs.

-Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing. -Activities require handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power and air tools, fasteners and other small parts.
