UMB Bank Corporate Security - Downtown Kanas City Campus Security Administrator in Kansas City, Missouri

Duties & Responsibilities

The role of this position is to protect UMB assets, facilities, associates, customers, and visitors to UMB Bank by assisting the department head with managing security operations. Responsibilities include managing security operations and equipment throughout UMB portfolio. The position will be accountable for all physical security issues and will help develop, plan, and implement strategic initiatives to meet the immediate and future physical security needs of all UMB locations. Research and report overall security issues to the senior manager and follow up on all deficiencies, ensuring they are corrected in a timely manner.

  • Serve as Security Control Room Incident Response Liaison

  • Oversee the Security Control Room operations, and provide technical support, training, and procedure manuals to maximize the effectiveness of operator performance

  • Administration of physical security systems, including IP Video, Alarms, Card Access, Intercoms, and locks/keys

  • Quickly and accurately diagnose and rectify issues with security components

  • Will be on-call 24 hours a day (rotating with other team members) and has the ability to respond to emergency situations

  • Assist with daily security operations, mainly in the downtown Kansas City campus

  • Assist with Project Management oversight, including participation in project meetings, providing security equipment plans, soliciting proposals from vendors, issuing POs, coordinating the installation of equipment and systems, testing, and training on systems for end users as needed

  • Create and maintain current records of Security Control Room logs, shift reports, incident reports, audits, etc

  • Conduct forensic investigations, using whatever electronic security systems might be involved, to determine the true sequence of events that occur surrounding security incidents, including, but not limited to alarm systems, CCTV systems, Card Access and other systems

  • Facilitate Life Safety drills including but not limited to severe weather, fire, etc.

  • Perform required Compliance tasks and provide proper documentation

  • Respond to requests from HR, Audit, and Legal teams when they request information

  • Continually look for opportunities to improve security operations/systems to improve efficiency

  • Respond to Service Now requests/tasks as assigned

  • Provide daily intel to the senior manager of security on incidents throughout UMB footprint

  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time based on security needs

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

MINIMUM:

  • Demonstrates ability to accomplish organization goals by maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of physical security systems and devices and can design effective security system solutions

  • Demonstrates ability to analyze information

  • Demonstrates thorough familiarity and knowledge with basic computer operation, including but not limited to using Windows and navigating through various applications

  • Demonstrates ability to be self-motivated

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrates ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively

  • Demonstrates a high level of organization in order to effectively and proficiently handle multiple simultaneous tasks in an often fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrates the ability to use good judgment and make good decisions when incidents occur which are not covered by established procedures

  • Demonstrates fluency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • In-depth understanding of enterprise-class card access systems, including programming of hardware devices, access setups for cardholders, alarm events, schedules, etc. Proficiency of Software House products.

  • Ability to troubleshoot door hardware and electronic locking devices and accurately diagnose problems if they arise.

PREFERRED :

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, PowerPoint and Access

  • Strong verbal and communication skills

Requirements

MINIMUM :

  • High School Diploma or GED

OR

  • 3-5 years experience in Physical/Corporate Security

  • Knowledge of Software House, or March Networks, Genetec, DMP (Burg Alarm Panels)

  • Experience working with Fraud, Life Safety, and Security Systems

  • Valid driver's license

PREFERRED :

  • Previous Experience within the Financial Institution Industry

Work Environment:

Overnight travel may be required approximately 25% over the work year

Compensation Range:

$51,480.00 - $99,330.00
