Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the Fintech industry, to be based in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves leading the monthly financial close, reconciliation, and cash management processes, and improving financial operations. The successful candidate will also manage a team of eight, fostering operational improvement across the finance function. This role is primarily remote, with one day a week, at most, in office. Responsibilities:

• Drive the monthly close process to ensure accuracy and efficiency

• Complete daily bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet account reconciliations

• Improve operational and reconciliation processes in partnership with our issuing bank

• Ensure compliance with group accounting policies

• Prepare and maintain cash flow actuals and forecasting for the business

• Collaborate with group and shared finance resources to ensure high level of compliance and accuracy in reporting to regulators and stakeholders

• Engage with auditors for the completion of local and group financial statements

• Drive automation to all processes, partnering with IT and data teams to improve accuracy and efficiency of invoicing, payables and reconciliation

• Manage the collection process to decrease the number of days past due on all revenue invoices

• Ensure consistency in financial policies and procedures across the organization

• Provide coaching and mentorship to the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required - Netsuite experience preferred

• Familiarity with Crystal Reports is essential

• Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Prior experience in Auditing is required

• Knowledge and understanding of Budget Processes is essential

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required, a Master's degree will be highly appreciated

• Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
