Synchrony VP, Channel Marketing in Kansas City, Kansas

Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Channel Marketing leads a pod(s) of channel marketing managers executing campaigns and channel execution process standards for Synchrony channel campaigns within an Agile environment. This includes email, direct mail, mobile and file only campaigns. The successful candidate will lead enhancements (e.g., timelines, template design, data collection and refinement) as well as pod resourcing, workflow, escalations, client satisfaction, and coaching team members.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads the efforts of channel campaigns including email, direct mail, mobile and file only campaigns ensuring all steps and tasks are adhered to and enhancements are communicated and executed throughout team.

  • Ensure an inclusive and great place to work by careful resource planning, succession planning, people skills expansion, coaching and development, employee recognition and providing critical experiences to team members

  • Act as Operations and Resourcing lead for Pods, working cross-functionally with Performance Marketing teams to manage Workflow, forecasting, resourcing, capacity modeling and campaign traffic flow.

  • Identify and implement tactics to reduce campaign cycle time and enhance resource efficiency.

  • Collaborate with peer teams across Growth to deliver on campaign volumes and communicate campaign status.

  • Provide change management support and implement tactics to manage change across Direct team

  • Liaise with client marketing management, senior leaders, Account Management team, Data, Analytics, Martech, Creative Agencies, Print Production and Suppliers to enhance and standardize processes, solve problems, and address escalations.

  • Drive process improvement efforts including enhancing processes and tools, and monitoring compliance and records retention requirements of Pod.

  • Develop, build and drive process simplicity and innovation efforts to match evolving client, business and compliance requirements

  • Manage large initiatives and process improvement efforts as assigned including driving subject matter expertise across Direct Marketing Pods, Demand Generation and Performance Marketing.

  • Lead pilot strategies for next generation channel optimization.

  • Pursue Agile Certifications, including Leading SAFE, Scrum Master and Product Owner.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or in lieu of degree high school diploma/GED and 8+ years of Marketing experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of work experience with one or a combination of the following: email marketing, direct mail marketing, mobile marketing

  • 2+ years' experience in both B2B and B2C marketing

  • Minimum of 2 years leading projects within an Agile or process driven environment

  • 2 + years' demonstrated experience developing and managing staff

  • 4+ years' cross-functional work experience in a matrixed organization

Desired Characteristics:

  • 3+ years leading execution efforts of end-to-end builds, journeys and deployments within an ESP like Salesforce, Responsys, Zeta, PCM/Harmony or Cheetah.

  • Proven leadership skills

  • Experience in consumer financial services with exposure to a credit card or retail environment, or a regulated industry

  • Strong experience in project management of marketing campaigns and processes, with successful experience influencing and leading cross functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, develop new tactics and address implementation obstacles.

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
