We are seeking a Pre-Construction Deployment Supervisor to join our team in the Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough walkouts and site assessments, participating in the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, and ensuring project readiness before the construction phase. You will be the critical link between the sales, engineering, and construction teams, providing essential feedback and documentation to ensure successful project execution. This position requires extensive travel to project sites nationwide.

The Role

  • Conducts comprehensive pre-construction walkouts to assess the project site conditions, identifies potential challenges, and gathers all necessary information to inform the project planning and bidding processes, as well as to determine optional construction methodology and fiber placement

  • Collaborates with the relevant teams to participate in the RFQ process by providing accurate site assessments, cost estimates, and technical feedback to support the development of competitive bids

  • Attends and contributes to pre-bid meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, presenting findings from site assessments and addressing any potential issues or questions

  • Prepares detailed reports and documentation following site walkouts, including sketches, photographs, and site-specific notes, to be used in project planning and bid submissions

  • Provides insightful feedback and recommendations based on site assessments to optimize project plans, mitigate risks, and ensures alignment with client expectations and project specifications

  • Works closely with internal teams, including sales, engineering, and construction, to ensure seamless communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle

  • Performs early phase analysis to de-risk construction through pre-engineering of market routing using customer drawings, GIS files and systems, and field walkout data

  • Manages online bidding systems used by various customers to produce project summaries for internal bid decision making

  • Manages utility pole make-ready assessment and fielding

  • Performs in-depth research of jurisdictional regulations surrounding construction and permitting

  • Travels extensively to project sites across the nation, sometimes on short notice, to perform site walkouts, attend meetings, and provide on-site support as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications, construction, or a related field, with a strong understanding of site assessments and pre-construction processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, understanding site plans, and using relevant software tools for documentation and reporting.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential challenges and propose effective solutions during site assessments.

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including overnight trips, to project sites nationwide

  • Travel +/- 75% annually

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
