Support the financial reporting efforts of manufacturing accounting by assisting with respect to month-end close tasks, preparation and review of financial statements, financial data analysis and reporting, account reconciliation, and trouble-shooting accounting-related issues. Assist in ensuring the adherence to standard accounting practices.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end close procedures including posting journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Provide guidance and support in the month-end close process for accounting personnel at respective plants and assigned business units

  • Establish and nurture relationships with intra-office and plant personnel

  • Review and analyze plant month-end income statement and balance sheet and investigate unusual or unexpected trends and implement corrective action

  • Participate and assist with the budgeting and forecasting processes and various supporting analysis

  • Work closely with the Consumer Retail Marketing group to understand annual advertising and promotions budget and ongoing plans

  • Responsible for expense and budget analysis of Consumer Retail advertising and promotions activity

  • Participate in the processing of Accounts Payable invoicing through automated workflow for various plants.

  • Fulfill inquires and engage in ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed to support departments within and external to the division

  • Assist with ad-hoc projects, data analysis requests, and management reporting on multiple levels of management

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement within areas of responsibility

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience

  • 5+ years of accounting experience preferred

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Experience with ERP applications preferred, such as SAP

  • Certification and/or License – CPA and/or MBA preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Advanced organizational and time management skills, including ability to multitask and set priorities for multiple divisions

  • Collaborate effectively and foster strong teamwork skills

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability and willingness to work with a sense of urgency and within deadlines

  • Maintain confidentiality of information

  • Demonstrate solid business judgment and decision-making skills

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
