This position may be covered by a Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association (VEBA) *JOB DUTIES: As an Apprenticeship Specialist for North West Montana , you will: * Work with businesses, job seekers/apprentices, workforce system partners, high schools, higher education and numerous other entities to successfully manage and grow Registered Apprenticeship in Montana. * Research best practices in other states and determine how strategies can be modified and implemented in Montana. * Study economic conditions in communities; build relationships with workforce system partners, businesses, education entities, veterans organizations, and peers; and develop and recommend program implementation strategies. * Interpret and monitor state and federal regulations, standards, and policies to ensure compliance. * Develop policy recommendations, research and interpret state and federal laws, regulations, and policies and assist with development of the workforce system. * Communicate workforce development initiatives, program information and data to workforce system partners for information sharing and strategic planning. * Work closely with employers, workforce partners and corrections re-entry organizations to develop apprenticeship opportunities for the formerly incarcerated. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including: * Bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, business administration or human services; and, * One year of progressively responsible work in program administration. OR * Five years of directly related experience. OR * Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered. Preferred: Knowledge of the principles of federal employment and training legislation, workforce development, economic development, adult learning, policy development, and administrative procedures of state government. Skills in research and analysis, critical thinking, organization, strategic planning, management practices, record keeping, communication, facilitation, negotiation, consensus building, and computer skills. Background in healthcare field preferred.
