The Engineering Manager will manage all preventative and routine maintenance needed for equipment located in Kalamazoo site buildings. This is an onsite position located in Kalamazoo, MI.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage directly or through subordinate supervisors the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering team assigned to one or multiple Business Units

  • Provide hands on management of installation, preventive maintenance and repair/improvement of plant equipment

  • Use of the Lockout/Tag out procedures to ensure safe repair/maintenance on machines/equipment

  • Maintain and continuously improve use of the preventive maintenance program

  • Read and interpret schematics/equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

  • Assure all safety regulations are followed and maintain clean and orderly work areas

  • Research, design and implement new technology to improve equipment performance and quality to the customer

  • Lead engineering change management activities

  • Support procurement process

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required

  • 8+ years of work experience required

  • People management experience highly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical, electrical and industrial fabrication

  • Understanding and support of continuous improvement

  • Knowledge of PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic design and repair
