Job Description For Construction Engineering Inspector / Civil Engineering Technician:

MUST HAVES:

• 3+ years of experience in construction engineering or construction inspection for Municipal, Transportation, Local Agency projects

• Proficiency with interpreting and using construction documents for construction or engineering projects

• Experience with construction technology for project documentation such as FieldBook / FieldManager

• Valid Drivers License

NICE TO HAVES:

• MDOT Certifications: FieldManager, Storm Water, Soil Erosion, Sedimentation Control, Density, Concrete Field Testing, Aggregate, Bridge Inspection, Bridge Rehabilitation, Concrete Inspection, Paving

• Bachelor or Associates Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Civil Technology

The Construction Engineering Inspector / Civil Engineering Technician will be responsible for transportation and municipal projects from both the office and in the field. Projects will include water main, sanitary sewer, roadway, and stormwater system, located in the Greater West Michigan area. They will be involved in the planning, monitoring, measuring, and calculation for construction engineering projects - specifically inspection, testing, and quality assurance for construction materials, soil density, soil erosion, and paving. They will use technology such as FieldManager/FieldBook for project documentation and management.

MDOT FieldManager Training

Storm Water Operation Certification

Michigan Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) – Comprehensive Certification

MDOT Density Technology Certification

Michigan Concrete Field Testing - MCA

MDOT Aggregate Technician Certification

MDOT Material Acceptance Process Seminar

MDOT Bridge Deck Construction Inspection & Bridge Rehabilitation Inspection

MDOT Concrete Inspection Certification

MDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Paving Certification
