Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

This individual will be responsible for setting up and operating both CNC Mills and Lathes. They will be responsible for loading the programs into the machines, setting the tooling and fixtures, and changing fixtures as needed. The role involves using Conversational and G code programming, reading blueprints/specifications, and making adjustments to the machines as necessary. Additionally, the individual will perform first and last piece quality inspections to ensure the quality of their work.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes.

  • Load programs into the machines and set the tooling and fixtures.

  • Perform fixture changes as needed.

  • Use Conversational and G code programming for machine operations.

  • Read blueprints and specifications to make necessary machine adjustments.

  • Perform first and last piece quality inspections.

  • Ensure the quality of machined pieces through thorough inspection.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of CNC Machining experience.

  • Proficiency in CNC Machining with both Mills and Lathes.

  • Experience in setup and tool changes.

  • 2+ years of programming experience with Conversational and G code.

  • Ability to program and edit machine programs.

  • Good job tenure and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to mentor technicians.

Work Environment

This is a 1st shift job opportunity, with working hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Overtime is offered. The facility spans 150,000 sq. ft. and is equipped with modern production equipment, offices, and a laboratory. The environment is climate-controlled, with capabilities for hot, cold, and spray urethane processes. The company manufactures all of its components and cast urethane for various applications.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
