Program Summary

KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract ( LOGCAP ). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.

Job Summary

KBR is seeking a Sr. Manager, Strategic Planner based in Kaiserslautern, Germany. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, you 'll be expected to commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week and this position may require some travel.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the operational planner between KBR’s planning team and the USG, integrating LOGCAP contingency support plans, exercises, and operations.

  • Guides a team in support of the military decision-making process and production of Technical Exhibits and other deliverables to the Operations Plan.

  • Develops basing solutions; conducts overall risk assessments. Performs location reconnaissance when permitted.

  • Develops contractor aviation support as needed. Participates in designated exercises to validate planning decisions.

  • Planner applies their knowledge of command organization and logistical objectives, general staff functions, relationships and procedures in the planning and coordinating for all LOGCAP logistical actions in support of the development and execution of intricate and complex requirements.

  • Planner will provide advice and assistance to Army Materiel Command (AMC) staff in LOGCAP capabilities pertaining to exercise plans, strategies and logistical readiness matters.

  • Assists the USG with coordinating requirements for mobilization sites and power projection activities and exercises.

  • Prepares and coordinates documents and information paper and presents briefings on current logistics support of exercises in the theater of operations.

  • Attends meetings, conferences, and planning groups.

  • Receives, coordinates, and responds to a variety of logistic oriented requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English

  • Attended Command and General Staff College (CGSC), (MEL4) minimum

  • Former Military Senior Officer, Lieutenant Colonel or Higher Rank

  • Experience in a MAJCOM staff or Joint staff

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • War College Graduate a plus

  • Project management skills, including forward thinking, leadership, accountability, flexibility, focus under pressure and respect for diverse perspectives

  • LOGCAP experience a plus

  • Experience with installation planning and execution requirements for mobilization and deployment of units a plus

  • General understanding of LOGCAP concept of operations to include Performance Work Statement (PWS) and associate technical exhibits

  • Possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 15 months of remaining validity and with at least six blank visa/stamp pages remaining

  • Must possess driver's license with at least six months of remaining validity
