Signature Aviation Operations Supervisor, HFFC in Kailua Kona, Hawaii

Responsible for providing leadership, instruction, and guidance for all operational and maintenance requirements for the airport's fuel facility operation (including fuel storage and fuel distribution system).

  • Supervise staff to ensure all quality assurance procedures are followed, and all system test frequencies meet or exceed ATA 103 requirements.

  • Ensure staff and equipment are available when and where they are needed.

  • Supervise staff to ensure scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment is completed in a timely manner in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure staff complies with Corporate and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, including but not limited to hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER), hazardous energy lockout tagout (LOTO), fall protection, heat stress, back safety, hearing conservation, etc.

  • Ensure staff complies with environmental programs to ensure compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements such as the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC), Storm Water Pollution Control Plans (SWPCP), etc.

  • Assist with audits from all internal and external agencies, including facilitation of site inspections and responding as necessary.

  • Provide training to staff in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This includes mentoring and coaching staff as needed.

  • Supervise staff in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Investigate causes of accidents/incidents and recommend safety measures for preventing further occurrences.

  • Assists with inventory management as needed to ensure adequate supply is available to customers and ensures all customers maintain adequate inventory balances in the system.

  • Maintain effective relations with internal & external customers.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints; resolving problems; and ensuring Team Members complete the company's training program.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent trade or technical school training; or 2 years of related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional knowledge and skills:

  • Knowledge of the processes and procedures for operating fuel facilities

  • Associate degree or equivalent trade or technical school training; or 2 years of related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, one-lines, and schematics

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of the organization

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, loss/gains, inventories, inches/feet to gallons/barrels conversions, proportions, percentages, areas, weights, lengths, diameters, radius, circumferences, flow rates, pressures, voltage, amperes, watts, resistance, and volumes in standard and volumes in standard and metric

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing

  • Must hold a valid driver's license

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English

  • Ability to learn quickly

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Ability to build relationships
