As the only aerial tramway in Southeast Alaska, guests at the Goldbelt Tram are invited to soar to new heights in scenic adventure aboard Juneau's top attraction. We offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore the miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn more about Alaska Native culture.

Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Sign-on Bonus and Layoff Employee Bonus Plan ("Plans") is designed to provide an effective means to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. However, Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, in the sole discretion of the Company.

Goldbelt, Inc. hopes that by providing short-term incentive compensation, this will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees which in turn will enhance Goldbelt Inc.'s long-term value.

Salary/Grade Level: $15 - 20 hr.

We are hiring an AM and PM shift for this position.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of a limited bar area as part of the tramway restaurant.
  • Coordinates sales receipts reporting with the front of house supervisor and staff.
  • Stocks and maintains alcohol and products for ongoing inventory.
  • Responsible for adherence to standard bar opening, operating, and closing procedures, along with ability to handle all complaints quickly and efficiently, in the customers' best interests.
  • Provides excellent customer service by taking/following up on orders and communicating with guests.
  • Ensures workspace and equipment are kept sanitary and in an orderly manner.
  • Ensures liquor serving laws and TBandG House Alcohol Policy are being followed; maintains high service standards pertaining to customer conduct.
  • Processing orders in a prompt manner using a POS (point of sale) system
  • Provides assistance in seating guests when hostess is helping other guests.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required as assigned by the food and beverage manager or the front of house supervisor.

Qualifications

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Thorough knowledge of practices and techniques of mixology and proficient in the operation of bar equipment, and beverage serving.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with State of Alaska liquor laws.
  • Knowledge of computerized cash register systems, cash collection procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
  • Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to guests those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.
  • Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
  • Ability to work all different shifts including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to handle stress under pressure.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle heavy customer contact and excellent customer service skills.
  • A positive focus and customer service skills is in order to ensure the return of our customers.
  • Knowledge of customer service techniques.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

  • Current Training for Alcohol Professional (TAP) card.
  • One (1) year of bartender experience.
  • State of Alaska Food Workers Card.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Drug testing may be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

  • Three (3) or more years' experience as a bartender.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Routine movement in/out of an aerial tramway cabin as part of an aerial tramway and lift operation at an 1800 ft. elevation; exposed to inclement weather conditions (rain, wind, snow) constant public interaction and communication; constant exposure to extreme heights; periodic exposure to dangerous equipment during emergency evacuations or power failures.

The Tram is a non-smoking facility with designated outside-smoking areas.
