The Behavioral Health Clinician II is at the licensed journey level with intermittent supervision. Incumbents may independently plan treatment plans, provide diagnosis, coordinate care, and provide therapeutic services. Employees may float to other locations in the hospital if needed.

What You Will Do:

  • Conducts individual assessments, including diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, safety planning, and referrals throughout the service continuum as appropriate. The nature of the services necessitates a brief solution focused model.
  • Provides individual, group, conjoint, and family counseling as appropriate to treatment plan or situation.
  • Works cooperatively to provide evidenced based practice and utilize standards developed in collaboration with the assigned treatment teams which include an assigned psychiatrist, mid-level providers, and other clinicians. Collaborates effectively with other community providers and resources.
  • Meets documentation standards in terms of timeliness and accuracy using Meditech as the primary Electronic Medical Record. Documentation must meet Bartlett Regional Hospital and CMS standards.
  • Participates in other hospital committees and teams as appropriate with particular focus on building strong working relationships with all areas of behavioral health within the hospital.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

  • Education:Master's Degree in the Behavioral Sciences in a licensable discipline under Alaska regulation.
  • Certification(s):BLS for Healthcare Provider within 60 days of hire.Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) and Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT) training within 90 days of hire. Must be able to begin the certification process as a Qualified Addiction and Mental Health Professional under the 1115 Medicaid Waiver (initiate process within 30 days of hire) for continued employment.
  • License(s):Current State of Alaska Master's Degree license such as LMSW, LPC, LMFT, or a Psychologist license that meets third party reimbursement requirements.

Please note:In lieu of fringe benefits, casual employees receive a $2 an hour casual differential in addition to their hourly base rate of pay.Casual employees will not be scheduled to work a full time schedule for more than four (4) consecutive months or more than 780 hours annually. Casual employees must work a minimum of one (1) shift within a 90-day period to maintain status and employment.

Internal Hires:Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
