FMH Conveyors is adding aTechnical Writer, responsible for writing and editing technical documentation for the organization’s various product lines. This individual must have excellent research skills, be self-directed, able to organize their ideas, and be able to translate technical terms into text that any reader can understand.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following, other duties as assigned.
Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals
Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently
Be able to work cross functionally with other departments
Research, develop, and document technical design specifications and test scripts
Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
Strong ability to collaborate with others
Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
Review existing documentation and convert or reformat as needed
Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, English, Journalism, or related field
Demonstrated success as a Technical Writer
Proficiency in MS Office
Strong attention to detail
Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
Manufacturing experience is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Required to sit and stand for extended periods of time; occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
