U.S. Army Reserve Command Human Resources Specialist (Military) in Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey

Summary About the Position: This is a position with the 99th Readiness Division, Office Management Branch, Regional Personnel Support Center located at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Responsibilities Manage human resource programs. Coordinate and conduct personnel training. Supervise subordinates within the department. Develop and implement civilian and military personnel policies and plans. Provide advisory assistance to Headquarters on civilian/military personnel matters. Advise employees on resolution of human resources management issues. Prepare and present briefings, reports and correspondence. Review and edit job descriptions of employees within the organization. Resolve complaints/grievances from staff within the organization. Provide counseling and resolve issues for subordinate employees. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing policies or researching and analyzing regulations related to military human resources; providing training; monitoring or directing military personnel functions; building teams and developing subordinate staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service Manages and Organizes Information Managing Human Resources Problem Solving Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE (Not to Exceed) 1 Year. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years. .
