The Supplier Quality Team is dedicated to a high quality standard and continuous improvement throughout our external supply chain, to ensure supplier products are in compliance with Industry, Customer and Celestica requirements. We emphasize on maximizing value, through a proactive and collaborative approach in preventing quality problems, to minimize disruptions in the supply chain.

Detailed Description

As the Supplier Quality Manager, you will be leading a team responsible for overseeing and optimizing our supplier quality processes to ensure the highest standards of product quality and reliability. Your role is critical in developing and implementing quality assurance strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving effective Kaizen and continuous improvement activities across our external supply chain.

You will perform tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and execute supplier quality strategies aligned with company objectives

  • Elevate supplier quality standards and drive excellence in performance metrics and KPIs

  • Conduct routine supplier audits, technical & process assessments to ensure compliance with Customer, Celestica and Industry standards

  • Monitor and analyze team and supplier performance data to initiate continuous improvement activities as needed

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues

  • Focal point of interface with Customers on supplier quality related communications

  • Drive effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner

  • Participate in periodic Business Reviews with critical and Preferred Suppliers

  • Educate suppliers on the deployment of core quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D/ Root Cause Analysis and problem resolution process

  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the supplier quality team, fostering a culture of strong quality mindset and accountability

  • Lead supplier selection, qualification and onboarding processes

  • Keep abreast and implement relevant changes in Customer and Celestica Global Quality requirements to the external suppliers

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices and regulatory changes related to supplier quality management

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, supplier auditing techniques, and regulatory requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of Core Quality Tools including APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, SPC and Gage R@R

  • Understanding of GD&T and control of Key/Critical characteristics

  • Proficient in the 8 Discipline Problem Solving Process

  • Working knowledge with some or most of the following mechanical parts highly advantageous

  • Sheet Metal & Frames

  • Plastic and Metal Machinings

  • Cable Harness

  • Weldment & Gas lines

  • Packaging crates)

  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills

  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a strong sense of accountability

  • Superb analytical abilities

  • Certification in Quality Management, CWI, Lead Auditor or Six Sigma is a plus

  • Highly motivated, passionate and collaborative with an ability to work remotely.

  • Must be able to travel 50% (Eg: Within Malaysia, Korea, China, Taiwan etc)

Typical Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of proven experience in supplier quality management and supplier performance improvement

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
