We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Financial Analyst to join Martin-Baker America. This role plays a key part in supporting month-end closing activities, analyzing financial data-particularly COGS costs-to ensure accurate reporting. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at multitasking, and possesses strong organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills, is essential. They assist the accounting department with special requests and provide management with critical reports and analyses, enabling informed decision-making.

Month-End Closing Responsibilities:

  • Journal Entries & Variance Reports:

    • Prepare journal entries and analyze production variances, rework, PPV, inventory, and other key variances.
  • Month-End Reporting:

    • Generate reports on KPIs, trends, P&L transaction details, and actual vs. budget variances.
  • Reconciliations:

    • Reconcile sub-ledger balances to the general ledger and perform balance sheet reconciliations.

Reporting & Analysis Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis & Decision Support:

    • Perform trend analysis and "what-if" scenarios to support strategic decision-making.

    • Prepare revenue and contribution margin analysis reports, conducting additional analyses as needed.

    • Generate variance analysis reports (e.g., plan vs. prior years, forecast comparisons).

  • Process Standardization & System Support:

    • Act as a liaison for corporate initiatives, including process standardization and ERP upgrades.

    • Maintain the general ledger by updating ERP systems and reporting models.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

    • Support the development of annual budgets and revenue forecasts.

    • Collaborate with teams to determine necessary financial models (e.g., segmented P&L, cost center reporting, headcount reporting).

  • Reporting & Dashboards:

    • Create dashboards for management to enhance visibility into financial performance.

    • Respond to internal and external customer requests for financial data and reports.

  • Compliance & Process Improvement:

    • Update accounting processes and procedures as needed.

    • Support the annual financial audit.

    • Work with teams to identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities.

Education, Experience & Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant and related experience or training required including utilization of ERP systems.

  • Intermediate to Proficient in all Microsoft products, including advanced excel skills.

  • SAP, ERP, and Power BI experience is a plus.
