Staff Auditor - Integrated Applications

As the Staff Auditor, you will deliver a defined aspect of an audit through operational delivery of audit work under close supervision across Citizens' various business lines, in line with methodology, standards, and procedures. You will be responsible for executing audits to ensure that bank policies, processes, and procedures are being followed and internal controls and safeguards are in place, and ensuring that the controls are adequate, effective, and efficient. As an Information Technology Staff Auditor, you will be responsible for auditing new and existing information systems, technologies, and applications to ensure that appropriate controls exist, processing is efficient, and information system practices are in compliance with bank standards. The Staff Auditor will work with experienced team members to perform audits of the bank’s technology applications, while also learning about key bank businesses that use the applications. Primary responsibilities include

  • Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of technology controls.

  • Actively contributing to audits and maintaining regular communication with Internal Audit management.

  • Supporting the comprehensive risk assessment process, continuous monitoring activities, and special projects identified by Internal Audit management.

  • Assisting management in the planning, identification, and assessment of technology-related risks and reporting on the adequacy and effectiveness of risk-based controls.

  • Assuming responsibility for specific areas within larger audits, delivering work assigned to complete the audit engagement.

  • Exercising a general understanding of risk-based auditing techniques.

  • Attending team meetings and participating in briefing with the team lead to discuss role and expectations, in relation to an audit.

  • Prepare for upcoming assigned audits by reading procedures, relevant background materials and/or reviewing prior audit work.

  • Validate the remediation of issue action plans and ensure the work performed sufficiently mitigates key risk(s) to close Internal Audit-raised issues.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 1-2 years of experience auditing applications and information systems, preferably in banking/financial institutions.

  • Working knowledge of business processes and IT General Computer Control Frameworks (NIST, COBIT, ISO2700x).

  • Risk-oriented knowledge of cloud computing, DevSecOps, core infrastructure platforms (e.g., Windows, UNIX, Mainframe, SQL, Oracle) and Cybersecurity.

  • Understanding of Information Technology-related regulations (e.g., Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Sarbanes-Oxley) and FFIEC regulatory guidance.

  • Project management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

Hours & Work Schedule - Hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home

  • Hours per Week: 40

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
