Description

Up to $18.00/hour! Responsible for providing 1:1 personal care, skill development, supervision, and training for children and young adults with special health care needs in a child’s home and integrated community settings.

Schedule

M-F business hours, occasional evenings and weekends

What You'll Do

  • Implement care plan of each service area by conducting baselines/assessments and following plans appropriate for each service area requirements. Teach and support children/young adults in mastering goal areas as identified in the care plan.

  • Assure timely documentation of each service area expectations.

  • Meet all personal care and daily living needs of children/young adults, which may include feeding, toileting, etc.

  • Become trained for medication administration, seizures, and g-tube feedings as well as other specialized trainings needed.

  • Build professional interactions between children/young adults, families, staff, and volunteers.

  • Follow all safety procedures according to ChildServe Guidelines and Policies and communicate with on-call supervisors as needed regarding emergency situations, safety, behavioral concerns, or major adverse events.

  • Complete other duties related to service operations as assigned.

    What You'll Need

  • Maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others, both verbally and in writing, and foster effective relationships with co-workers, children, and families.

  • Must exercise confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and ChildServe

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to proficiently learn new software programs.

  • Ability to communicate in English effectively for understanding, in writing and verbally.

  • This position will be subject to COVID-19 safety requirements. Specific requirements will be discussed during the interview process.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.

  • Must be willing to provide transportation as a ChildServe authorized driver. This includes passing a Motor Vehicle Record Check, car safety check, and able to provide a valid driver's license and insurance.

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

    Experience: A minimum of 1 year professional experience working with children with special health care needs preferred.
