Corteva Agriscience is currently seeking a Global Stewardship Seed Launch Lead based at our Global Business Center in Johnston, Iowa.

The Global Seed Stewardship Launch Lead will be accountable for development and implementation of product launch processes for novel product innovations, such as gene edited crops, with a focus on delivering freedom to operate for the enterprise. This position requires a blend of strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and operational execution. The lead will design product launch stewardship options in collaboration across stakeholders including RAS, R&D, portfolio, commercial, Government & Industry affairs, legal and more. The lead will facilitate processes that support product launch including export market assessment, stakeholder training and key stakeholder mapping. The leader will also provide proactive guidance to scan the horizon for systems, processes, policies and best practices that should be considered across launch systems to maximize customer benefits and minimize risk.

Additionally, the lead will be responsible for guiding stewardship related efforts with external licensees of Corteva technologies. The lead will serve as a resource to the Commercial Licensing team for evaluation of stewardship risks with licensees and implement complementary programs to support proper stewardship of Corteva technology. They will also serve as a key reference for licensees related to stewardship related materials and help guide audit programs for all licensees using internal and external resources. The leader will also represent Corteva for relevant stewardship topics within key industry organizations.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead stewardship product launch planning for new seed technology innovations to ensure freedom to operate for the enterprise.

  • Develop alternative methodologies and stewardship requirements to support launch of product innovations such as biotechnology traits, gene edited products and gene edited germplasm that address needs of different cultivation markets, regulatory considerations and grower capabilities.

  • Collaborate with Global Stewardship Portfolio Leads and Regional Stewardship Leads in addition to Global Regulatory Leaders, business, marketing, communications, government and industry affairs, and legal related to launch systems and activities.

  • Collaborate across functions to identify early stage development activities and requirements of novel product innovations to integrate and execute appropriate pre-commercial stewardship programs and standards.

  • Identify systems & methodologies that can enable successful stewardship of new product innovations.

  • Collaborate in the design of outreach to critical stakeholders including the grain trade, farm organizations, industry associations and government agencies.

  • Collaborate with key internal teams to identify unique industry risk mitigation strategies that can support the launch of novel products.

  • With partners, define and manage launch milestones, aligning with key checkpoints.

  • Establish success metrics for launch, track progress, and provide regular updates to leadership.

  • Lead processes required to support launch planning of new biotechnology and gene edited technology platforms, such as export market assessment.

  • Assess industry partnership opportunities that can enable/support product launch.

  • Regularly assess and ensure company launch policies are aligned to company and customer needs regarding product innovation introductions and align with company values.

  • Participate in industry discussions about product launch with relevant stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with regional and local teams to design and deliver training for key stakeholders involved with pre-launch and launch of product innovations.

  • Collaborate across seed and CP business units related to best practices of product launch.

  • Support product incident management program.

  • Lead stewardship licensing activities across the seed business unit.

  • Collaborate with seed portfolio leadership and licensing team to build consistent process for stewardship review of out-license agreements for review and inclusion of stewardship elements based on product type.

  • Identify and create programs to support proper stewardship of Corteva technologies with licensees.

  • Align with commercial licensing teams by geography to support licensees by:

  • Providing up to date stewardship related content such as tag language, Product Use Guides, Technology Use Agreements, etc.

  • Being a first point of contact for licensee stewardship related questions.

  • Developing and including stewardship audit questions as a part of licensee audits.

  • Working with licensing team and licensees to remedy any identified non-conformances.

  • Collaborate with legal and licensing colleagues to build consistent process for review of in-license agreements prior to final signature.

  • Work with industry groups, partners and agencies to represent Corteva's position on relevant stewardship topics and promote product stewardship activities and develop common standards for the industry to follow.

  • Engage with broader industry to address industry wide opportunities related to product launch.

  • Serve on relevant industry association boards or committees as needed.

  • Create and give presentations on product stewardship related topics.

  • Support and participate in engagements with regulatory officials supporting pipeline and/or commercial products.

Qualifications

What Skills You Need:

  • Degree in marketing, science, agronomy or closely related field preferred.

  • 20+ years of experience in seed product management, seed marketing, launch management, seed compliance, seed stewardship or closely related field.

  • 20+ years of demonstrated experience and deep understanding of the various aspects of product management, launch and stewardship. Regulatory and/or management experience supporting seed platforms helpful.

  • Solid track record of product and program introductions in the agricultural market space.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work effectively with diverse groups.

  • Strategic thinker with a customer-focused mindset and a passion for innovation.

  • Demonstrated project management skills for working with multidisciplinary groups managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail required.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade others without authority.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
