POSITION STATEMENT: Integral part of the marching band staff. Helps in rehearsal planning, show design, and in implementing a visual technique in conjunction with the band director
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Attend all competitions and home games as needed by the band director
Attend all rehearsals and camps during the course of the season
Implement marching/music technique in a full ensemble and sectional setting
Teach drill responsibilities
SKILLS:
Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills necessary
Conducting, marching, choreography and performance skills and experience
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works well with others, maintaining positive and effective communication with school personnel and students
Contributes to creating a positive work environment
Demonstrates integrity and respects confidentiality
Arrives on time and works consistently until the end of his/her scheduled day
Takes advantage of professional growth opportunities related to his/her specific job
Works independently and with confidence
Demonstrates ability to grasp and adjust to new and changing situations
Demonstrates initiative and ability to work without close supervision
Professional Performance Criteria
Responsible for the conduct of students during practice, competitions and games
Help to promote team morale and spirit and ensure student safety
Cooperate with the Athletic Director, Principal, and other activity/athletics coaches and support each other in an ethical manner
Report promptly for all practice sessions and contests and dress according to the standards established for that activity or sport
