Schedule: 4/10 (Mon - Thurs 6:30am - 5pm)

Job Description: This position is working primarily with the RS-25 liquid rocket engine in support of the Artemis program for NASA. Approves production records for conformance to procedures. Responsible for ensuring safety, reliability and hardware traceability for end-item systems and mission solutions through production quality oversight. Routinely interfaces with customer representatives.

This position will may also support Kennedy Space Center when the Artemis vehicle is there. Travel may be anywhere from one to three weeks at a time.

Essential Functions:

• Perform in-process, final, and rework related inspections; accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems

• Work from engineering drawings, blueprints, production plans and/or work instructions

• May inspect customer-owned materials, hardware, etc. for compliance to specifications, drawings, workmanship standards and to the customer’s contract or purchase order

• Utilize quality standards, techniques, tools and equipment including diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, etc. in the inspection process

• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures

• Perform basic data entry and computer applications related to the work

• Inspection techniques in the area(s) of assignments

• Safety processes and procedures

• Strong communication skills

  Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior manufacturing or inspection experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior manufacturing or inspection experience.

  Preferred Additional Skills:

• Familiar with processes that involve human safety, such as airworthiness or human spaceflight

• Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframes and Powerplant certification

• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
