Retail Model Production – Design, Development and Engineering is the bridge between concept idea and realization when it comes to brick based, building happenings and permanent instore solutions.
Our products boost the sales of LEGO sets globally. We have equal focus on innovation and optimization – we standardize where possible and deliver WOW when needed from a commercial and marketing point of view.
Core Responsibilities
A. People leadership
Manage and develop the roles of internal or external model designer (brick-based model and graphic design), MBS Designers and MBS Manufacturing.
Design & manufacturing resource management
Performance, capability and capacity management anddevelopment of the team
Other leadership tasks
B.Design and maturing (manufacturing design) management
Cross-sites collaboration with design and manufacturing managers in other parts of the organization
Cross-teams collaboration with other internal and external creative teams
Concept management, taking a lead role to prepare strong concepts of brick based 3D platforms to support marketing campaigns
Lead and facilitate brainstormings and workshops to ensure creative progression and lead internal design team to strongest solution and deliver expected results
Lead design and concept proof development of various design outputs (e.g., sketches, graphics, layouts, high res. proof prints, 3D prototype models or other marketing materials)
Brand guidelines management
Design process management, incl. manufacturing design
C.Others
Set up a high professional ambition-level and deliver within or above expectations on a day-to-day bases
Ensure a creative and innovative environment via direct contribution and initiation of innovation challenges
Constructively challenge partners and colleagues through dialogue and examples on the strategy and execution, to drive a high standard of work
Overall business goals understanding, balancing the need for cost, time, quality and high creative standard to the client. Supervision of product design & development with respect to costs and quality.
Follow Quality Management System standards, Environmental and Health & Safety rules, and guidelines of the LEGO Group.
Consultations with suppliers and other LR teams during the developing.
Setting up, following, reporting and controlling specific performance indicators related to team management
Do you have what it takes?
Major in design related.
long-term design background / experience with industrial design or work with creative job description
Proven leadership abilities, skills for direct or indirect leadership position, Min 3-year experience in leadership role (direct or indirect)
Knowledge of 3D design and graphic programs (Maya, Adobe suite)
To be passionate about design and hunger to learn more
Proven track record of design and innovative thinking
Working with different national cultures
Excellent presenting and communication skills
Experience working with various functions (engineering, design, marketing etc.)
Demonstrated Knowledge of 2D and 3D software
Adobe collection software including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and 3D Software skills including Autodesk-Maya, Z-Brush or equivalent
Knowledge of actual design trends
Both blue sky and grounded mind approach
