Vice President (Valuation Control) for BNP Paribas RCC Inc., in Jersey City, NJ, to lead projects, implement new processes, and re-engineer and industrialize current processes. Projects relating to performing independent price verification that include independent verification of correlation marks and other pricing parameters used for pricing equity derivatives such as implied volatilities, dividends, and repo or borrow rates. Processes involve developing, maintaining these independent price verification projects, as well as reporting the results from these processes to the trading desk and management within the bank. Will ensure that the handover and methodology documentation of parameter review processes are up-to-date and approved by management. Ensure independent price verification methodologies are up-to-date. If not, suggest changes to these methodologies. Ensure proper documentation exists to allow other individuals to be able to perform such tasks using these documents. Will propose innovative enhancements to valuation methodologies. As part of the review process of methodology documentation, propose revisions that are up-to-date with current industry standards. Will perform implementation through consultation with and validation from local and global risk (Risk-GM) and financial control groups. Implementation of independent price verification methodologies. Will manage relationships with Front Office, Trading, Research, and Risk-GM. Once the independent price verification results are produced, will report them to Front Office/Trading and explain the stories driving those results to Front Office/Trading along with Risk-GM. Front Office/Trading is the end user, or consumer, of independent price verification results. Risk-GM is the owner of the methodologies behind generating these results. The research team is the owner of the pricing models required to run these methodologies. Will liaise with each of these teams to explain the stories driving these results to Front Office and Trading, as well as Risk-GM, and liaise with Research when clarifications on model behavior are required. Actively explore and identify potential synergies and opportunities for improvements across business lines (Fixed Income, Global Equities and Commodity Derivatives (GECD), Asset and Liability Management, and Treasury). This role is primarily focused on GECD, and since other business lines may also perform independent price verification of their respective businesses, will explore and identify if best practices from these businesses can be adopted for GECD. Contribute to the maintenance of the matrix (market data cartography) that records the details for all parameters used in the Official Profit and Loss (PnL), ensuring that all parameters are controlled and accounted for and that changes are properly authorized. Will identify major PnL events and research the relationship with pricing and IPV. As the market value of securities held by Front Office moves up and down, it creates profit or loss. When there are large profits or losses, the Vice President (Valuation Control) will research the accuracy of that PnL to explain to management whether the PnL event is in line with the market movement. Will provide quantitative support for or against these PnL events to management. Will maintain clear and thorough records of all controls to present and explain to the audit team. Will ensure processes used to produce independent price verification results and processes used to report these results to Front Office and Trading, Risk-GM, and Management are easily transferrable to other members of the team and procedures are complete. Will ensure complete familiarity with and adherence to global policies and procedures used to produce independent price verification results and report these results to Front Office and Trading, Risk-GM, and Management, and raise issues with management when practices are inconsistent or unable to be followed. Will perform Independent Price Verification (IPV) processes for Global Equity products with a focus on EQD Delta one, Stock Flow, Convertible bonds, and illiquid methodologies. Will lead projects, implement new processes, and re-engineer and industrialize current processes. Will ensure that handover and methodology documentation of parameter review processes are upto-date and approved by management. Will propose innovative enhancements to valuation methodologies. Will ensure complete familiarity with and adherence to global policies and procedures and raise issues with management when practices are inconsistent or unable to be followed.Requires: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience as a Vice President (Valuation Control) or related occupation providing valuation and Independent Price Verification (IPV) services within an international bank or international financial services organization or, alternatively, a Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Vice President (Valuation Control) or related occupation providing valuation and Independent Price Verification (IPV) services within an international bank or international financial services organization. Demonstrated Expertise (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Demonstrated expertise (DE) performing data extraction utilizing pricing data derived from Bloomberg, Reuters, and Totem for independent verification and valuation of financial products and for validation of market data to identify data anomalies and inconsistencies; (DE) utilizing MS Excel VBA and Python to improve efficiency by automating essential valuation and reporting tasks while leveraging Power BI to enhance analytic capabilities with dynamic data visualization; (DE) leveraging strong written and oral communication skills to organize data and communicate valuation results, provide oral and written analyses to internal and external stakeholders, and effectively collaborate and build consensus across functional teams comprised of members of Trading, Risk, Compliance, and Technology groups; and (DE) applying Black-Scholes pricing methodologies, Greeks (including Delta, Gamma, Vega, Theta, and Rho), and P&L effects on various payoff structures of equity derivatives products (including European and American options, forward contracts, futures contracts, total return swaps, variance swaps, dividend swaps, volatility swaps, and convertible bonds) alongside exotics and structured products (including auto callable notes, equity-linked notes, barrier options, Asian options, and basket options).
