Model Risk Governance and Review (MRGR) is a global team of modeling experts within the firm's Risk Management and Compliance organization. The team is responsible for conducting independent model validation and model governance activities to help identify, measure, and mitigate Model Risk in the firm. The objective is to ensure that models are fit for purpose, used appropriately within the business context for which have been approved, and that model users are aware of the model limitations and how they could impact business decisions.

Within MRGR, the Chief Operating Office (COO) supports model risk stakeholders in their review and governance activities, and drives certain governance activities itself, with responsibility for: product ownership, process engineering and software development for model risk technology and analytics; model risk reporting; administration of oversight committees; project management of the review and governance pipeline; coordination of regulatory/audit deliverables including capital stress testing exercises; and general business management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support Business Management activities for the respective MRGR Line of Business.

  • Manage the quantitative and qualitative model portfolio to risk appetite.

  • Lead Review and Issue remediation planning.

  • Engage with senior leaders, development and review teams on model risk activities impacting their area.

  • Work with other teams (e.g., CCAR) on regulatory deliverables.

  • Manage building of systems to automate processes.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can synthetize results and share with a senior audience

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated, organized and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Intellectually curious with a proven ability to learn quickly.

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to build rapport with senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities

  • 1 plus years' experience in Banking and Finance Industry

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics.

  • Model risk management experience
