Job Overview:

Assist the physician with endoscopic procedures and anticipate the physician s needs throughout the procedure. Assist the RN and/or physician in implementing and data gathering in the care of the patients undergoing interventional endoscopic procedures and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent

  • Maintains required BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider course

  • Experience in endoscopic reprocessing and management of scopes

  • Knowledgeable regarding infection control standards

  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in endoscopy setting preferred

Preferred:

  • SGNA associates program certification preferred

  • Surgical tech or SPD certification preferred.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Flex Schedule

  • Coverage for day, evening and weekend shifts

Essential Functions:

  • Assists the physician with both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS & EBUS) procedures, fine needle aspiration with slide preparation, biliary and pancreatic duct stents, esophageal stents, manometric procedures, esophageal dilations, specimen collection and other related procedures/duties performed in both the endo and operating room suite.

  • Endoscopy techs are required to have the knowledge of the procedures, aseptic technique, and room set up.

  • They confirm that the correct equipment is in working order prior to the procedure and be able to troubleshoot all endoscopy equipment.

  • They perform a variety of functions from decontamination of bio-hazardous material, to cleaning, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of various instruments and equipment.

  • They work in a fast-paced environment and must have the ability to prioritize work assignments and interact well with peers, nurses, physicians and other health care professionals.

  • Maintenance of a clean, organized work area is essential.

  • They are flexible with scheduled hours to meet physician, patient and department needs.

  • They are responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, incorrect counts.

Pay Range:

$ 31.05 Hourly Rate
