Job Description:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in either Information Systems or Logistics preferred.
Work Experiences:
4+ years of experience configuring and maintaining rules based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) required
4+ years of experience in a distribution or warehousing environment required
4+ years of managerial experience required
Skills:
Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills.
Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Possess the desire and ability to quickly achieve and maintain a thorough understanding of Academy’s WMS.
Possess the desire and ability to quickly achieve and maintain a working knowledge of all other systems used within the Distribution Center (DC).
Ability to train and assist WMS Managers in the setup and capabilities of the WMS and associated systems and peripherals.
Responsibilities:
Serves as liaison between IT and all personnel on DC site.
Responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and maintaining the overall performance of the WMS and Radio Frequency (RF) network.
Analyzes and adjusts WMS strategies in partnership with DC Operations to ensure efficient flows of merchandise.
Manages the proper tracking of systems related equipment and devices.
Justifies and communicates any DC requests for new hardware or requests for software changes to facility Director of Distribution. If approved by Director, serves as the DC’s primary liaison to the proper channel(s) in facilitating the requests.
Assists with maintenance, upgrades, and replacements of PC’s.
Manages department expenses and budgets. Plans and submits annual budget requests for approval.
Manages hourly and salaried staff, reviews their performance.
Identifies cost-effective solutions to operational challenges.
Temporarily fulfills DC Operations Manager role, as needed.
Maintain internal control documentation, effectively perform assigned internal controls, remediate internal control exceptions, and response to internal and external audit requests
Responsibilities may change; team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements & Attendance
Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, as needed to support DC off shift operations.
Operate effectively in a non-climate controlled environment
On-call status 24hrs/day to support Distribution Center operations
Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and safety rules governing professional staff behavior
