Robert Half is partnering with a local non-profit organization that is searching for a CFO/COO to join their team! This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with 7+ years of experience (ideally in the non-profit field) to lead a team and become a strategic executive partner.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Build a mission-driven budget through broadly engaging and educating staff members in the strategic decision-making process, effectively communicating budget priorities to diverse stakeholders, including the Board and program staff

· Ensures that the reconciliations, monthly closes and the annual close are conducted properly and presents monthly and annual financial reports to the Finance Committee and Board of Governors

· Ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and all applicable laws and regulations

· Evaluates finance policies and processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvements in effectiveness and efficiency

· Analyzes financial results via monthly trends, comparisons to prior-year and current budget, identifies areas requiring attention, and presents findings and specific recommendations to the Executive Director and Board as appropriate

· Provides support to the Development Director as needed in fundraising accounting and logistics, assists in the management of grant funded projects by providing budgets, reporting and

invoices for grants

· Serves as the primary staff contact for banking and investment relationships, insurance brokers, third-party auditors, etc.

· Prepares for and leads staff through annual audits and cost report submissions

· Effectively allocates resources across the organization

· Provides oversight and strategic direction in the maintenance and upkeep of all buildings, equipment, vehicles and grounds

· Leads the Facilities Director in the planning and implementation of initiatives for future facilities needs

· Ensures that all operations and processes are compliant and efficient, revising as needed

· Manages the selection process and the relationship with independent IT consultants as necessary

· Plans for system upgrades, replacement and maintenance, and sets standards to ensure data security

· Works with management and administrative staff in identifying and executing initiatives for streamlining and automation of manual processes and optimizing operations

· Responsible for the company's overall risk management and business continuation strategies

· Assists Executive Director, Board Committees and management staff to meet organizational goals and objectives

· Oversees and manages day-to day business operations, ensuring that directors and managers are equipped with he guidance and resources to excel

· Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· MBA, CPA, and/or other advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred

· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required

· Five years of experience at a senior level in finance and/or accounting, in a leadership role

· Requires a thorough understanding of and experience in accounting, financial management principles, financial systems and reporting, budgeting, payroll, and tax filings

· Nonprofit experience preferred

· SAGE Intacct experience preferred
