Job Overview

This position is a key member of the Strategy & Corporate Development team, supporting management in the analysis and implementation of the company’s strategic initiatives, inclusive of corporate development activities such as identifying, evaluating and executing our growth strategy through mergers and acquisitions and other financial transactions. This role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day M&A execution and process management at each stage (due diligence, pre-deal sign activities, pre-close, post-close) through preparation and analysis of historical and projected financial information.

  • Conduct all aspects of business and financial due diligence, including but not limited to: market, retention, whitespace, cross-sell, customer concentration, pipeline, sales productivity, bookings, P&L, synergy, contract, census, etc.

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain comprehensive pro forma financial models that forecast revenues, operating expenses, capital expenditures and funding scenarios for various M&A opportunities.

  • Develop business and valuation cases in support of the corporate development opportunities being pursued.

  • Support third party due diligence, including but limited to: legal, financial, tax insurance and tech due diligence with company advisors.

  • Engage with investment bankers, consultants, investors and target company management teams from sourcing through deal execution.

  • Work with functional teams to align resources to integration plans including systems and process on both sides.

  • Support broader market research and analysis to identify potential new opportunities of growth for the business (e.g., market sizing, industry trends, pricing analysis, etc.)

  • Analyze the broader HR tech landscape for potential acquisitions or partnerships, including supporting competitive intelligence and maintaining a pulse on the broader HR tech/human capital management market to understand industry, product, and market trends, as well as competitor movements.

  • Work cross-functionally within the organization across product, sales, and marketing to develop business cases and test, validate, and quantify potential new areas of growth (e.g., new product development, new market entry, pricing and business model evaluation)

  • Drive cross-functional M&A-related strategic initiatives within the business through project management, KPI creation and monitoring, and regular reporting to senior-level executives.

  • Create executive ready power point presentations to support internal and external team presentations.

  • Consistently ensures that business is always conducted with integrity, policies and processes are observed and that behavior aligns with iCIMS’ values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in, business administration, engineering, finance, economics, or a related area

  • 3+ years’ experience with advanced financial modeling required; experience in consulting firm, banking or strategy/corporate development role preferred.

  • Advanced level Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.

  • Excels at delivering results in a highly ambiguous environment.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and pattern recognition capability.

  • Knowledge of software industry and SaaS business model, HR Tech experience preferred but not required.

  • Ability to think strategically, to anticipate and identify problems, and develop creative solutions.

  • Self-motivated, well-organized, able to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Skilled at quickly building effective working relationships, working through others in order to manage tight timelines.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively.

The target total compensation for this role will be based upon experience.
