Scholastic Forklift Operator II - 2nd Shift in Jefferson City, Missouri

Job Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position primarily consists of picking individual cartons for outbound

orders via Powered Vehicles at elevations.

Essential Functions:

Ability to operate a Reach Lift and/or Order Picker Powered Vehicle·

Operate WMS RF Scanners

Load, transport, and deliver materials and supplies on pallets to production areas via powered industrial trucks

Pull cases of product from bulk for Outbound daily usage

Communicate production problems to appropriate personnel

Must be able to work safely around moving equipment and conveyors

Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors

Must be able to read and comprehend a basic order form and be able to communicate well with others

Work in non-climatically controlled environment throughout the year

Other Responsibilities

Sort, lift and stack boxes as well as finished product correctly onto pallets

Safely operates various types of equipment to include but not limited to i.e., box knives, tape guns, electronic handheld devices, RF scanners, etc.

Safely operates machinery to include but not limited to conveyors, tapers, labeler, palletizer and bailers

Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment

Load boxes onto pallets from bulk storage locations

Must meet or exceed departmental standards for production, quality, and accuracy

Assist with various Material Handling duties

May work in different areas (departments) in Operations based on business needs

Adheres to facility hours to include overtime and weekends

Maintains positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment

Other duties as assigned

Starting Salary: 2nd shift = $19.50 + 2.00 shift differential = $21.50

Location: Algoa, McCarty and/or Robinson Road Buildings

Hours: 2nd shift = 3 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday – Friday

Qualifications

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to lift/load up to 70 lbs.

Must be able to work in high elevations with the use of Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Must be able to wear steel toe shoes when operating a powered industrial vehicle

Refer to Physical Demand Analysis (PDA) for complete physical requirements

Qualifications :

Must be at least 18 years old

Must possess a valid driver’s license
