About This Role:

This Consultant – OSP Constructionposition is the optimization advocate for OSP Construction and reports to the Director – OSP Construction Optimization. The main responsibility for this roll will be to identify, standardize, and document best construction practices. This includes the ability to identify and analyze new equipment, tools, and methods to create best in class procedures and practices. This position is hyper focused on Splicing (Copper and Fiber) and Optics.

This position is Virtual in the state(s) of: Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Florida and Arkansas only

What You’ll Do:

  • Observe, investigate, and document Best Practices with OSP Construction

  • Perform internal crew observation across the Windstream footprint.

  • Liaison between OSP Construction and both the Architecture and Engineering teams

  • Partner with other WIN organizations

  • Represent the company in discussions / meetings with suppliers to identify new equipment, tools, and methods for cable placement activities.

  • Monitor compliance and identify opportunities/corrective actions to present to leadership team.

  • Analyze systems/processes to identify opportunities for improvements with an understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

  • Define requirements, lead Field Trials and First Office Applications. Aide in document and training collateral creation, and provide support for process, system, equipment, and tool enhancements.

  • Actively participate in the Windstream Quality Team.

  • Perform Quality Audits on completed and in-progress jobs, internal and external.

  • Provide recurring leadership updates.

Do You Have?

  • Strong technical knowledge of OSP Engineering and Construction splicing and installation

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to summarize and present detailed information to technical and non-technical audiences, both individually and in a group setting.

  • Strong leadership skills required.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to quickly identify errors and root cause and determine how best to correct them.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Expertise in Copper and Fiber splicing and testing, Optics installation and testing, Trouble shooting damages and restoration efforts

  • Working knowledge of construction and engineering principles and practices within the Telecom industry

  • Strong business domain expertise in the areas of processes and systems, with a proven track record of providing results.

  • Strong project leadership skills and execution focus to drive results through performance – both at the individual level and at the team level.

  • 10+ years job related professional level experience

  • Ability to travel at least 20-30% of the time and work flexible work hours

  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to travel to different construction yards and job sites

  • A highly motivated and self-directed individual

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel and Power Point.

  • Experience with Tableau considered beneficial.

  • Trend Analysis

  • Team-oriented and experienced at working in a collaborative environment. Willing to consider the opinions of others and to think outside the box.

  • Construction Management experience

  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards

10+ years professional level job related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
