Reports To: Material Handling Supervisor

Job Description: The Yard Driver plays a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of our production facility by coordinating the movement of large products, including both work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods, via flatbed or dry van. This position is responsible for safely maneuvering yard trucks and trailers within the yard area and facility premises, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off based on production schedules. The Yard Driver ensures smooth traffic flow to support the operational cadence of our facility.

Shift: 2nd Shift – 2:00pm – 10:00pm Monday-Friday (OT as required)

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate yard spotter trucks and trailers safely within the facility and yard areas, adhering to all safety and traffic policies.

  • Assist in training activities for new team members or as needed.

  • Review and update location documentation for WIP products and finished goods, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on machinery and update maintenance logs accordingly.

  • Comply with all UAI and ISO requirements in the performance of daily duties.

  • Communicate effectively with production, material handling, and shipping supervisors, as well as other team members, to coordinate yard activities and prioritize tasks according to operational needs.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team's goals and objectives.

    Qualifications:

  • Current or previous Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements for operating yard spotter vehicles is preferred.

  • Proven experience as a yard spotter driver or in a similar role within a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics environment.

  • Strong driving skills with a clear understanding of vehicle dynamics and maneuvering techniques.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and external stakeholders.

  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and compliance with regulations.

  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and prolonged periods of standing or walking.

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist
