Responsibilities:

• Proficiently operates ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, ensuring optimal image quality and accurate documentation.

• Executes procedures in strict adherence to established protocols, maintaining high standards of safety and procedural integrity.

• Assists physicians during invasive procedures, adhering rigorously to universal protocol standards and ensuring patient safety throughout.

• Effectively communicates procedure details to patients, alleviating anxieties and gaining cooperation through clear and concise instructions.

• Accurately identifies patients using two identifiers, reviews medical histories, and applies departmental protocols for acquiring comprehensive patient data.

• Conducts ultrasound examinations under direct physician supervision, integrating patient history, lab results, and physical findings to aid in medical diagnosis.

• Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering a compassionate and respectful environment for patients and colleagues alike, promoting efficient teamwork.

• Ensures meticulous administrative handling of examinations, including proper coding, tracking via RIS systems, networking for archiving, and accurate charge entry.

Required:

• Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) .

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

RDMS Registered or registry eligible preferred

Must have completed Physics portion of registry

Must obtain RDMS within 12 months of hire date CPR or BLS preferred

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Basic Life Support issued by the AHA within 30 days of hire/transfer

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
