Robert Half HR Generalist in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the education industry for an HR Generalist, based in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. This role involves a variety of HR functions and requires skills in receptionist duties.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the recruitment process, from job posting to interviewing to hiring

• Process and record employee information, including documentation of new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, and merit increases

• Manage employee benefits programs and explain benefits to employees

• Ensure the organization's compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to HR

• Conduct employee performance reviews and provide feedback

• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures

• Address employee queries about HR-related issues

• Assist in organizing and supporting staff development initiatives

• Manage the organization's employee database

• Coordinate employee training and development efforts. Requirements • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience in a HR Generalist role, preferably in the education industry.

• Proficient in HRIS and other HR-related software.

• Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.

• Experience in handling receptionist duties, such as answering calls, scheduling appointments, and managing office communications.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Demonstrated ability in managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with all levels of the organization.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.

• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changes.
