Aspen Medical Director of Construction in Jakarta, Indonesia

  • Position Overview

    Responsible for overseeing all construction projects related to the facility, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and the highest quality standards. The position involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, healthcare administrators, and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance with healthcare regulation and safety standards.

  • Construction projects are completed on schedule, minimizing disruptions to healthcare services and maintaining service continuity.

  • Project are delivered within the established budget, with effective cost management and minimal cost overruns.

  • All construction activities meet the necessary local, and national regulations, including health and safety standards specific to healthcare facilities.

  • Completed projects adhere to high-quality standards, providing safe and functional spaces for healthcare delivery, patient safety and staff efficiency.

  • Effective communication and collaboration with architects, healthcare administration, medical staff, and contractors ensure that stakeholders needs and expectation are met throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Identification and mitigation of potential risks related to construction projects, including safety hazard, regulatory changes, and budgetary concerns.

  • Implementation of innovative construction practices and sustainable building solutions that enhance the facility’s operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.

  • Building and leading a high-performing construction team, fostering professional growth, and encouraging collaboration among staff and contractors.

  • Improved operational workflows and functional design resulting from well-executed construction projects, positively impacting patient care and staff productivity.

  • Establishment and maintenance of comprehensive documentation, including project plans, budgets, schedules, and compliance records, to support transparency and accountability.

     

  • Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of construction projects, from initial planning and design to final completion.

  • Develop project timelines, milestones, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with institutional goals.

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, financial forecasting, and monitoring expenditures.

  • Ensure that projects are completed within the approval budget and manage any financial variances.

  • Ensure compliance with local, and national regulations, building codes, and healthcare industry standards.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors on design, layout, and construction methodologies.

  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including hospitals and clinics administrators, staff and regulatory agencies.

  • Establish and implement quality control processes to ensure construction meets or exceeds standards and specifications.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, safety practices, and adherence to designs.

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.

  • Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, and that the construction site is compliant with safety regulations.

  • Lead and supervise construction teams, providing mentorship and support to foster professional development.

  • Encourage effective collaboration and communication within the construction team and with other departments.

  • Prepare and present project status report to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation related to project progress, budgets, contracts and compliance records.

  • Conduct post-completion reviews to assess project outcomes, including performance evaluation of contractors and lesson learned for future projects.

     

  • Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, Architecture or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Proven experience in construction management, with a focus on healthcare facilities.

  • Extensive experience in managing large scale construction projects inclusive of healthcare infrastructure, with minimal 5 year of experience handling construction with managing large – midscale project budget size value > IDR 300 BIO, preferably hospital construction.

  • Detailed listing of project delivery to date

  • In-depth knowledge in healthcare construction, regulation and best practice in hospital construction.

  • Excellent Contractor management capabilities

  • Client side and cost management

  • Efficient Problem solving and decision making.
