Citigroup Program Management Senior Lead - C14 - JACKSONVILLE in Jacksonville, Florida
Citi’s Chief Operating Office (COO) is charged with execution and oversight of cross-Citi work to perform Consent Order remediation and is at the center of Citi’s Transformation. This work will be performed and monitored through a number of sub-portfolios of work. This COO Organization Program Management Office (Org PMO) role will provide governance over the ‘COO-Article Sub-Portfolio’. The Org PMO governs this critical Book of Work (BoW), with a robust set of PM governance procedures, reporting/metrics information and PM quality assessments. The critical operating principles of this Org PMO are to comply with its responsibilities in a standard and independent manner.
The Program Management Book of Work Oversight Lead will be responsible for procedure, execution and overall health and completeness of the BoW in focus. The success statement for this role: “Through the implementation of thorough governance processes, assure the BoW is in compliance with the Program and Project Management Standard (EPPMS), executes within Citi’s PM Risk Appetite, initiates escalation of risks to assure the delivery of the work.”
This role is an excellent opportunity for PM Governance professionals to deepen skills with this BoW which is part of the most important work Citi must accomplish. PM execution professionals can be afforded the ability to see another side of Project Management, to use honed skills to assess and guide. The candidate must have a passion for Project Management, be self-starting, energetic and creative and eager to display lots of ownership!
Key Responsibilities
Execute on the Org PMO Book of Work Oversight strategy for governing the health of the in-scope BoW.
Adhere to the Org PMO Charter’s processes to assess the completeness, stratification, and health of the BoW.
Own the annual update of the Org PMO Charter.
Develop excellent client relationships with the COO Sub-Portfolio Manager and Initiative /Program Managers.
Implement the Project Management trend assessment to identify broad risks and performance challenges through the use of Quality Metrics, the PM Risk Appetite, Status Reporting, PQA and spot check results.
Assure the following PM Practices are thorough and effective for this BoW and any related work in the Business BoW; Dependency, Risk and Issue Management, Escalation Practice and Lessons Learned.
Communicate and track required PM Training for all Project Managers and roles associated with the BoW.
Lead the COO Org PMO quarterly thematic review. Engage all pertinent stakeholders required to have a rich retrospective and develop actions plans to remediate / mature PM Execution.
Act in the capacity of ‘Org PMO Lead’ when necessary. Be able to handle executive challenge and interaction.
Escalate Program Management Concerns to the COO-Articles Org PMO lead as appropriate
Play an active role with the Citi Program Management Council (CPMC) and the Transformation Project Office (TPO) to assure current PM process and practice requirements are embedded in the execution of the BoW.
Skill requirements
Strong process and project management skills. Detail oriented, analytical and embodies ‘ownership’.
Demonstrates maturity in looking out for best interests of enterprise and not solely own business or team.
Builds strong Client Relationships / Business Partnership to effectively assess challenges and drive mutually agreed outcomes. Provides well-reasoned, balanced assessments of issues and questions
Demonstrates adeptness with diplomacy and influence skills
Experience with managing in a matrix organization to achieve business objectives. Demonstrates organizational savvy
Considers broad implications of decisions on different functions and units. Thinks strategically and articulates concepts clearly.
Qualifications - Knowledge and experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT or PM related business role is required.
Track record of exceptional performance
10-15 years in experience Project, Program Management Governance or PM Execution.
Experience with PM Tools and with reporting the Project BoW from different lenses.
Prior experience in leading and motivating teams, including partnering across virtual teams
Detailed knowledge of the Citi PM Policy and PM Standards and knowledge of the interaction with industry level standards.
