Robert Half PC Technician in Jacksonville, Florida

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented PC Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and upgrading computer software, maintaining and improving network systems, and providing assistance to users.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure hardware, software, and peripheral devices.

  • Diagnose and repair software and hardware faults.

  • Maintain and upgrade existing computer systems as required.

  • Oversee inventory of IT assets, ensuring all systems are accounted for and properly maintained.

  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network systems, routers, and servers.

  • Collaborate with team to implement new technology initiatives, projects, and systems.

  • Provide user support and assistance, explaining issues in a clear, concise manner.

  • Stay informed about the latest technology trends to make recommendations for future purchases.

  • Ensuring the safety and confidentiality of the data residing on customers' computers.

    Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a PC Technician or similar IT role.

  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent would be advantageous.

  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.

  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly explain complex technical issues to non-technical users.

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Physically able to lift and transport heavy IT equipment.

The ideal PC Technician candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of computer systems and hardware, and excellent troubleshooting abilities. The candidate should also possess superior customer service skills and the ability to explain problems and solutions clearly to non-technical users.
