What does a successful Senior Software Engineer (Migrations) do at Fiserv?

You will manage and execute migration projects; ensure successful and seamless transfer of software systems and applications.

What you will do:

  • Lead and oversee migration projects, collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements

  • Analyze existing software systems and applications to identify migration requirements and potential challenges

  • Develop migration plans and strategies: outline timelines, resources, and necessary tools and technologies

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement migration plans, ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations

  • Ensure data integrity and security during the migration process, implement necessary safeguards and controls

  • Conduct thorough testing and verification of migrated systems; resolve any issues or errors that may arise

  • Document and maintain accurate records of migration processes and procedures; ensure compliance with internal and external regulations

  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and stakeholders during and after the migration process

What you will need to have:

  • 6-10 years of experience in software development: design, develop, test

  • 4+ years of experience with databases and data migration techniques

  • 2+ years of experience with Golang development

  • 2+ years of experience with successful management and execution of large-scale software migrations in production environments

  • 2+ years of experience with database tools such as Flyway and Liquibase

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

  • Proactive approach to identify and resolve issues

  • Experience in prioritization and management of multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines

  • Experience with performance and load testing databases

This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, New York, Nevada, Rhode Island or Washington.
