EXPERIENCE

Excellent commuication skills and previous technical experience of successfully installing and repairing fiber applications for FTTH and FTTB. Practical experience of electric utility construction is preferred. Must demonstrate knowledge of outside fiber plant materials and telecommunications engineering and construction practices. Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a related field or role.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Should be able to quickly develop a working knowledge of Cooperative procedures, practices and policies. Knowledge of CAD and GIS platforms used in engineering, design, and work management. Working knowledge of fiber optic network design, various FTTX architectures, and fiber splicing.Must be able to perform the core elements of the position competently, following a training period not to exceed 90 days.

ABILITIES and SKILLS

Should be able to lift or carry 50 LBS. Should have strong computer skills and ability to learn new software and skilled in all Microsoft Offices software. Skills required for using some basic IP routing and troubleshooting, inside wiring practices, modem and wireless access point installation, and basic hand tool and power tools experience. Ability to possess knowledge of RUS, ANSI, NEC, and NESC specifications, rules, and standards. Must possess a valid driver\'s license.
